This is your chance to become a part of our target discovery group: a unique multidisciplinary group of biologists, computer scientists and engineers, searching for novel bacterial targets for phage therapy in various human diseases.
Duties:
You will take part in multiple microbial genomics research projects. Your main roles will be the statistical analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data and protein functional analysis.
You will report on your results and methods, orally and in writing, to a diverse group of researchers in the company, to the company’s scientific advisors and to company management. You will be expected to display a high level of scientific reporting ability, including the presentation and visualization of quantitative information.
Minimum requirements (please apply only if you have all of the following)
• PhD in bioinformatics or equivalent (we’ll consider biology PhDs with a significant quantitative background – in mathematics, statistics or computer science)
• Strong background in statistical analysis
• At least 3 years of full time work experience outside of academia
• Experience working with multiple bioinformatic tools in a Unix environment
Good-to-have’s (please apply only if you have at least one of the following)
• Experience with microbiome research
• Experience coding in Python
• Experience writing shell scripts
