This position involves interaction with many groups such as RF/Analog design team, other CAD teams, digital teams, IT and PDK teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Development, maintenance and support of new and existing tools for R&D designers to use in the development and testing of their designs.
Provide prompt advice and recommendations for schematic and layout designers when they encounter issues while using the RF/Analog CAD design flow
Support the test and release of the combinations of internal and third party software used by R&D designers. Task definition and work breakdown including time estimation. Share expertise with others and provide guidance, support and mentorship where required. Interface with other groups, including CAD, PDK and IT, to assist in enhancing design productivity and license/compute efficiency.
Work to maximize ROI on licensed EDA software. Solves complex problems quickly in a tightly constrained environment.
Ensures the quality of the solution; works with Project Leaders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
3+ years in the following areas:
· Working with Analog flows and tools
· Excellent working knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso
· Good scripting ability in languages such as Perl, Python, SKILL programming and Unix shell
· Knowledge of techniques for computer aided design of analog circuits including schematics and layouts, and some experience of using analog design automation tools
· Proven track record of delivering complex tasks on schedule
· Able to share own experience and to provide appropriate guidance for both CAD and design engineers
· Able to collaborate effectively with other technical staff and external vendors
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Experience with revision control systems
· Experience with using compute farms Competent with Analog Design or Layout techniques
· Experience with RF specific CAD tools, such as ADS/Momentum and/or HFSS
